DESCRIPTION:Researchers and advocates have had to re-examine the usual responses to domestic violence that rely on the criminal legal system amidst social distancing and stay-at-home orders. Studies show that domestic violence is interrelated with other social issues\, particularly social inequality and economic uncertainty. Professor Deborah Weissman\, Reef C. Ivey II Distinguished Professor of Law\, will examine the efficacy of legal and policy responses to domestic violence\, financial consequences of abuse suffered by survivors\, and the intervention modalities aimed at those who have harmed on Wednesday\, July 15. \nThis is the second of a three-part faculty webinar series\, Law in the Time of COVID-19.
