DESCRIPTION:In some parts of Asia\, courts have made great strides advancing LGBT rights by\, for example\, ruling in favor of same-sex marriage or the legal recognition of nonbinary gender. In contrast\, courts in other parts of Asia have entrenched LGBTQ subordination. Professor Holning Lau will discuss his research on this fragmented legal landscape.
