Lakethia is a member of the Student Development Office at UNC School of Law and serves as the Director of Student Services. In her role as director, Lakethia manages the full spectrum of student services activities at UNC School of Law. These services include but are not limited to student advising and counseling, enrollment management, student wellness initiatives, student organization advising and training, student conduct and safety, and student communication. Lakethia designs and implements programs aimed at building student leadership skills to enrich their co-curricular experience, prepare students for the legal profession and make students more competitive in the job market. Lakethia co-teaches the Transition to the Profession Program for first-year law students. In addition, she works with indigent clients of Durham County, North Carolina, representing them in guardianship cases. Lakethia is also an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession Committee.
