Laura Sloan serves as the Director of Judicial Clerkships in the Career Development Office. She counsels students on all aspects of the career exploration and job search process, focusing on state and federal judicial clerkships, law firms (litigation/appellate), and intellectual property. After graduating from UNC School of Law, Laura served as a law clerk for the Honorable Sarah E. Parker of the Supreme Court of North Carolina and the Honorable Karen K. Caldwell of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Following her clerkships, she practiced in white collar defense and investigations at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, DC. Since moving back to North Carolina, she has worked as a litigator at Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP in Raleigh and as a staff attorney at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. She is admitted to the bars of North Carolina and the District of Columbia.
