UNC School of Law receives approximately 2,500 applications each year from students in North Carolina, across the U.S and around the world. Approximately 180 of those who apply join the Carolina Law family. Students not only hail from geographically different places but also from a variety of backgrounds in the workforce and academia.

Important Dates
- Oct. 1 – Office of Admissions begins accepting applications
- Dec. 31 – Application deadline for priority scholarship consideration
- Mar. 1 – FAFSA and application priority deadline
- May 1 – Application deadline
- Transfer/Visitor application opens at the end of May and closes July 15.

Qualifications for Admission to the Bar
In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to determine the requirements for any jurisdiction in which they intend to seek admission by contacting the jurisdiction.
