Visit Us
There are a couple of ways in which admitted students can visit Carolina Law. We hope you will do so!
1.IN-PERSON VISIT PROGRAM For Spring 2025, in-person visits will be offered on Mondays (for Admitted Students ONLY), Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please join us to observe a first-year class and tour the law school building with current students. You may register for a visit here.
2.ADMITTED STUDENTS DAYS We will also host two admitted students days that all admitted students are invited to attend. These will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 and Friday April 11, 2025. Each day is filled with the opportunity to hear from several academic teams, current students, and alumni in which we aim to provide useful information about life as a Carolina Law student. Please note each of these days features identical programming, so only attending one would be necessary. More information and registration can be found here.

We encourage you to first look at our Carolina Law Ambassadors webpage to see if there is a particular student you would like to connect with based on hometown, interests, etc.
Continuing Obligation to Inform
You have a continuing obligation and responsibility to notify the Office of Admissions of changes to the information in your application—even subsequent to your admission to Carolina Law. If there are changes in the answers to any question on your application, you should immediately notify the Office of Admissions in writing.
Financial Aid
Applicants who are either U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. are eligible to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), in order to determine eligibility for Federal Direct Student Loans. Students can file at FAFSA.gov.
All students who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents must complete the Financial Certificate Form. Please see more details in the “For Deposited Students” section below.

To request a scholarship reconsideration, complete the law school’s request form and submit to the Office of Admissions at law_admissions@unc.edu.
Pay Seat Deposit
If your seat deposits are not received by the Office of Admissions by the due dates, then your offer of admission will expire, meaning that we will no longer hold a place for you in our entering class. Your seat deposits will be applied toward your tuition and fees. The Office of Admissions will send an e-mail confirmation once your seat deposits are received.

Declining Your Offer of Admission
If you decide not to accept this offer of admission, please notify our Office of Admissions as soon as possible. If you are accepted into any of our dual degree programs you are responsible for notifying the office of admissions of your acceptance and when you intend to begin law school.
For Deposited Students
Financial Aid
Check the to-do list on the Student Center page of ConnectCarolina to complete the steps required to retain your financial aid.
Financial Certificate Form (for International Students)
All students who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents must complete the Financial Certificate Form. Students not requesting F-1 or J-1 status need only complete Part I. International students requesting a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 (for F-1 or J-1 status) must complete the full form and submit all required documentation (listed therein). Please submit the form and documentation as early as possible to allow adequate time for the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office to process the form and issue the requested documents. It is your responsibility to initiate this process.
Health Insurance
All UNC students are required to have health insurance. You are required to purchase the UNC system-wide health insurance plan or waive out of the university plan by providing proof of another credible health insurance plan. Housing Options
While most Carolina Law students live off-campus, on-campus housing is available. Please contact Carolina Housing at housing@unc.edu or 919-962-5401 for information.
For those students who choose to live off-campus, most reside in Chapel Hill. Explore the different housing options available close to the law school.
Immunization & Medical History Form
Every student entering the University of North Carolina is required to present documentation that he or she has received all the immunizations required by law. Visit ConnectCarolina and select “More Student Links” for the Immunization and Medical History form.
ONYEN and UNC Email Account
Various departments around campus will soon begin sending emails to your UNC email account. Please set up your email account and begin checking it. Admissions correspondence will continue going to the email address with which you applied. Please note that you cannot set up your UNC email account until you have created your ONYEN. Visit onyen.unc.edu.
Transcripts
The American Bar Association (ABA) requires that all incoming students submit a final undergraduate transcript that confirms conferral of the degree. Failure to submit your final, degree-bearing transcript can result in cancellation of fall course registration. Transcripts must be received by October 15.
If you have completed all baccalaureate degree requirements, but your degree will not be conferred until after August 1st, please notify the Office of Admissions at law_admissions@unc.edu to request an extension.
All final transcripts must be sent through the Credential Assembly Service (CAS).
Note: The transcript submitted with your initial application via CAS will only satisfy this requirement if you had already graduated and the transcript indicates your degree conferral date. In addition, if you requested your transcript from your undergraduate institution with your final grades but before your degree conferral date was posted, this will not fulfill the transcript requirement.
