Law & Literature: Online Alumni Book Club with Professor Patricia Bryan

Join Professor Patricia Bryan in reading the 2020 Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Nickel Boys, by Colson Whitehead. This book spans the period from the 1960’s—after the Supreme Court decided Brown vs. Board of Education—until the present day. Based on a true story, this novel reminds us that the past cannot be erased and that changes in the law will not be enough to end discrimination and racial injustice. Styled in the model of Professor Bryan’s popular Law & Literature class at Carolina Law, alumni are invited to take part in a thoughtful conversation about the important themes in this book.
