Representing People – Fighting the Fight in Private Practice

November 12 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

PD Boot Camp #2: Representing People – Fighting the Fight in Private Practice

Tuesday, November 12 | Noon | Room 5048

Too often students think the government or a legal services organization are the only ways to do something meaningful with their law degree. If you want your practice to have a meaningful impact in the lives of your clients joins us for a session designed to educate you on the opportunities to serve others as a plaintiff’s attorney. The panel will be moderated by Kim Crouch, executive director of NC Advocates for Justice, the bar association for plaintiff’s attorneys in North Carolina. Our panelists represent different practice settings and areas:

  • Fred Baker is a partner with Motley Rice, one of the largest plaintiff’s firms in the country with over 100 attorneys. Fred’s practice involves consumer fraud protection and securities class actions.
  • Ben Burnside is an attorney with Deuterman Law Group, a plaintiff’s firm of eleven attorneys with offices in Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Ben focuses his practice on obtaining the Social Security and VA disability benefits his clients deserve.
  • Chris Stevens is also an attorney with Deuterman Law Group. Chris works on behalf of his clients to protect their legal rights and ensure they receive justice and helps to improve their lives in the wake of their injuries.
  • Matthew Ballew is a partner with Zaytoun Ballew & Taylor, a firm of five attorneys in Raleigh. Matt practices in all areas of the firm, including Police Brutality and Civil Rights, Medical Malpractice, Complex Business Litigation, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Premises Liability and General and Class-Action Civil Litigation.

Lunch will be served. Register in Symplicity under the Events tab.
