Carolina Law joins the University of North Carolina community and the people of North Carolina in mourning the passing of Governor Hunt, a distinguished alumnus of our law school.

Governor Hunt had a lasting and powerful impact on our state and on higher education. He was a visionary leader who understood that true innovation and enduring change emerge when universities, businesses, non-profits, and government work together in partnership.

His commitment to collaboration and his belief in the transformative power of education produced opportunities for countless North Carolinians and strengthened the institutions that serve our communities.

Governor Hunt leaves behind a legacy of leadership and service that will continue to inspire future generations of Carolina Law students. We are proud to call him one of our own, and we honor his memory with gratitude.
