Biography

Professor Caleb Griffin joined the Carolina Law faculty in 2024, where his research focuses on corporate law and corporate governance. His award-winning scholarship has been cited by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and has appeared or is forthcoming in the Cornell Law Review, the Washington University Law Review, and the Columbia Business Law Review, among others. Professor Griffin’s research has influenced proxy voting at the world’s largest asset managers, and he has provided Congressional testimony before the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

Professor Griffin teaches courses including Business Organizations, Contracts, Corporate Governance, Corporate Finance, and related business law courses. Before joining the University of North Carolina, Professor Griffin served as a professor at law schools in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Virginia, where he received multiple awards for teaching and research. Prior to entering the academy, Professor Griffin practiced corporate law with a major international law firm. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
