Biography

Jonathan Broun began teaching Trial Ad at Carolina in 2002. He started teaching Evidence in 2019. He has taught trial skills to public defenders, capital defense attorneys and other lawyers in North Carolina and other place throughout the country. He is the co-author of the Eighth Edition of Brandis & Broun on North Carolina Evidence. Broun has been the senior staff attorney at North Carolina Prisoner Legal Services since 2016. He primarily handles capital cases at trial, direct appeal and post conviction. He has been handling capital cases since 1994 at both public defenders’ offices and non-profit law firms.
