Michael Briggs

Biography
Michael Briggs, CFRE, is a Director of Development at the University of North Carolina School of Law. He works closely with alumni and friends of Carolina Law to understand what matters most to them and to connect those interests with opportunities to support students, faculty, and the school’s broader mission.
Michael brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and fundraising, with a career focused on building long-term relationships and helping organizations grow in thoughtful, sustainable ways. Before joining Carolina Law, he served as Chief Development Officer and Executive Director of The Chalmers Center, where he partnered with donors, foundations, and organizational leaders to support efforts addressing poverty in the United States and around the world.
Earlier, Michael was Executive Director of Third Millennium Ministries, where he worked with a global network of partners to expand access to theological education. He began his career in consulting and financial services with Accenture and Bank of America, experiences that continue to shape his strategic approach and appreciation for strong organizational leadership.
Michael is known for being a thoughtful listener and a collaborative partner, and he enjoys helping donors think through how their giving can reflect their values and create lasting impact.
He holds a master’s degree from Covenant Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University. He is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
Michael lives in Winston-Salem with his family and enjoys music, travel, and time with friends.
