Biography

Orla Buckley O’Hannaidh joined Carolina Law faculty in 2019 and serves as an adjunct professor of law. Orla teaches EU Data Protection Law, a course focusing on the EU’s GDPR – a comprehensive and far-reaching privacy law. Orla is recognized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) and is a certified information privacy professional on EU privacy, US privacy, privacy technologies and program management (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPT and CIPM). Orla previously worked at an international law firm, advising international clients on data protection obligations, including the GDPR, and currently serves as in-house privacy counsel to a global technology company.
