Biography

Cole serves as Carolina Law’s Director of Public Interest Advising in the Career Development Office. In this role, he supports students with their internship and post-graduate job searches, focusing on public interest and government positions, and aims to assist students in fostering and building a robust, safe, and inclusive community of diverse professionals. Cole is thrilled to return to UNC’s campus as an alumnus. Though having lived most of his life in North Carolina, Cole attended law school in New York at Fordham University. During his time there, he served as the Environmental Law Review’s Symposium Editor, planning and hosting “Urban Climate Change and the Law.” Cole interned with a scrappy environmental justice nonprofit in Manhattan and then with Legal Aid of NC’s Gastonia field office, gaining invaluable public service experience. Cole graduated from Fordham Law School in 2021 with the distinction of Public Service Scholar. Following a rigorous job search, Cole landed at Legal Aid of NC, first working in LANC’s Central Intake Unit and then with LANC’s Senior Law Project, representing and advocating for indigent clients in civil matters. Cole looks forward to bringing his experiences as a law student and practitioner to bear for Carolina Law.
