Biography

Isauro is a Bilingual Program Assistant for Clinical Programs. He supports clinic students and faculty with case management, client communication, translation, and interpretation. He also provides administrative support for clinic events and educational programming. Before joining the clinic in 2020, Isauro worked for Watauga County Schools as an Interpreter/Translator, where he created and presented educational workshops to parents and students. In addition, he worked with community agencies such as the Boone Police Department, High Country Community Health, and the Immigrant Justice Coalition to better serve the Latino/Hispanic/LatinX community of the High Country. He also manages and is the co-founder of Q’Pasa Appalachia—a Facebook page intended to inform, entertain, and celebrate the Appalachian region’s Spanish-speaking community. Isauro holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology-Health Sciences from Lees-McRae College.
