Biography
M. Scott Peeler, a proud double Tar Heel (BA ‘93; JD ‘97), started teaching at UNC School of Law in the Spring of 2020. He teaches an advanced seminar on white-collar law which focuses not just on the substance of relevant white-collar laws but on practice tips and helpful information to be successful as a prosecutor, defense attorney, or compliance professional. Scott recently concluded his service as the government-appointed monitor for Crédit Agricole, one of the world’s largest financial institutions and is the court-appointed monitor in a significant SEC enforcement action. Scott is a member of ArentFox Schiff’s Executive Committee and co-leads the firm’s Government Enforcement & White-Collar Practice Group. He also serves as co-chair of the firm’s Investigations Group. Scott is a member of the university’s Board of Visitors and is Vice-President of the UNC Law Foundation. He lives in Manhattan, and his wife, Diana, is also a double Tar Heel (BA ’92; JD ’95).
