Biography

Missy Vetrano is the Director of Financial Aid for Law students, working with both UNC School of Law and UNC’s Office of Scholarships and Student Aid (OSSA). In her role, she packages financial aid for students, including scholarship, loans, and other benefits; counsels students on their financial aid options to make healthy financial choices; and connects students with resources for additional funding opportunities as well as financial literacy. She also manages the school’s LRAP and provides advice for incoming, current, and graduating students on loan repayment, Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and financing the cost of Bar study. Missy earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo in 2014 and a Master’s (Ed.M) and C.A.S. in K-12 School Counseling from the University at Buffalo in 2015 and 2016, respectively. During her graduate studies, her interests pivoted towards Higher Education and she gained invaluable experiences from several areas in the field, including Admissions, Orientation & First-Year Programs, and Career Services. Joining Syracuse University College of Law in June 2016, Missy first worked as a Recruitment Coordinator, addressing inquiries from prospective and current students, and then transitioned in 2017 as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, serving as the school’s main financial aid counselor and financial literacy expert. She has also advocated for students as a member of the school’s DEI Council and is currently on LSAC’s RISE Alliance Advisory Council, with the honor of joining as an inaugural member.
